About George Beaven

George Beaven is the founding pastor of Christ Our Lord Church, Lake Ridge, Virginia. Before training for ordained ministry, George had a 26-year career in the U. S. Navy from which he retired in 1988. After completing three years of theological studies, George was called to plant a new church in the Lake Ridge section of Woodbridge, VA. He and his family arrived on site in July 1991, and Christ Our Lord Church launched its first public worship celebration on Easter Day 1992 in the movie theater at Tackett’s Mill Shopping center. In October 2006 Christ Our Lord Church reorganized as a member of the newly emerging Anglican Church in North America and moved to its current location. 

George is a leader in the New Church Development movement in the Anglican Church in North America. He is Director for Church Planting for the Diocese of the Holy Spirit and Chair of the Church Planting Commission for the Anglican District of Virginia.

George’s wife Linda is a ministry partner and serves as the church secretary and pastoral associate for women’s ministries. They have been married for 40 years and have two children and ten grandchildren.

George earned a Bachelor of Science Degree “with Distinction” from of The George Washington University in 1979 and a Master of Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in 1991.
